Alpharetta Elementary is proud to off the Watch D.O.G.S. program (Dads of Great Students). AES was the first Fulton County School to start this program in 2011 to allow fathers and father-figures to get more involved in their children’s school.
Watch D.O.G.S. is an initiative of the National Center for Fathering. Previously we had over 100 fathers and father-figures came to learn more about the Watch D.O.G.S. program and sign up to become a Watch Dog.
Please note if you would like to participate, you will need to fill out the Fulton County Volunteer form which is required of all volunteers who come in contact with any student in the Fulton County system. That form can be located on the AES homepage. Official Watch Dogs apparel (T-shirts, sweatshirts, polos, etc.) is required of every Watch Dog for security reasons. Wearing the shirt signifies to staff, students and parents that the person is someone with authority that day and allowed by the school to be there. Imagine a random person taking your child out of the car at carpool in the morning…if he is wearing his Watch D.O.G.S. T-shirt then you know he’s supposed to be there! If a Watch Dog forgets his shirt on the day of his duty, he will be required to purchase another one from the front office…so don’t forget your shirt!!
Should you have any questions about the program please contact Top Dog Doug Perkins at WatchDOGS.AES@gmail.com.
